Specifications

Right, so as you know portable hard disk drives and solid state drives are as a rule better protected than internal PC counterparts, which often have circuitry left uncovered. The Superior SH14 even comes with crash protection and a good survivability level, two key features.
ADATA updated its lineup of portable storage with the SH14 line. Nice sturdy packaging all in a small format combined with SuperSpeed USB 3.0 technology that can reach a good 90 MB/s, surpassing any USB 2.0 unit. Which of course it remains backwards compatible with.

The internal HDD uses a 2.5 inch form factor, and the platter speed is of 5,400 RPM (rotations per minute). ADATA is releasing three available storage capacities (500 GB, 750 GB and 1 TB), all of them in either black or red colored rubberized enclosures.

It's clamed that the packaging can even withstand water and even strong shocks (in line with military specifications as the press release mentioned). The Superior Series SH14 achieved IPX4 class water resistance, eliminating worries about losing valuable data due to spilled drinks.

Aesthetics wise the outer layer of the product is made of a silicone rubbery material, smooth and shaped in a curved grid pattern.
