The fast NVMe ACER Predator GM7000 2TB SSD is in the house, and we're taking a look at it. This device does not come with a Phison PS5018-E18 controller, which is a fortunate fact as it turns out. With a high-performance Innogrit 1G5236 PCIe-to-NAND controller, the Acer SSD GM7000 Series can manage a full PCIe Gen 4 (16 Gb/s) x 4 bandwidth with the host while managing multiple NAND flash memory devices on eight channels, resulting in extremely fast read and write speeds of advertised 7.4 GB/sec and 6.7 GB/sec, respectively. They have three different models. It is possible to purchase them in both with and without a heat sink in m.2 nvme form factors (8cm). There is also an pSLC cache and DRAM present being used.

The read speeds of all three models are 7400 megabytes per second, and the write rates are 5000/6000/7000 megabytes per second depending on volume size. The performance of random read and write operations is 700,000 IOPS (4k RW), respectively. There will be capacities ranging from 512GB to 1 or 2 terabytes. The drives have a five-year warranty. Pricing has not yet been determined. So this is a bit of an exclusive. We test the fastest 2TB version, the fastest revision:

• Up to 7,400 MB/s Sequential Read
• Up to 6,700 MB/s Sequential Write
• Up to 700K IOPS Random Read
• Up to 700K IOPS Random Write

The GM7000 also offers proper cooling capabilities with a beautifully streamlined anodized aluminum heat sink. The SSD optionally and recommended comes without a heat sink and is designed to fit laptops, ultrabooks, and small-form-factor PCs. Yeah, PCIe Gen 4.0 for those that want top-notch high-performance offered hopefully at a fair price, this PCIe Gen 4 x4 M2 unit might be what you are after. The SSD  is available in multiple volumes sizes. There's the 2TB version we test, a 1 TB model, and a 512GB model. Acer is claiming numbers that run into the 7400 MB/s, Write Speeds, and up to 6400 MB/s for the fastest 2 TB M2 SSD. They a offer proper 5 years warranty.  TLC NAND and is used backed with pSLC caches. The SSD is a Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVMe 1.4) M.2 2280 form factor SSD.

When you first start using this SSD, you'll notice that the performance numbers are frequently significantly better than those we've seen with similar Phison-controlled SSDs. When you look closely, you will notice that ACER (SSD manufactured by BiWin) makes use of an Innogrit 1G5236 controller, which is a new and different brand. These days, the performance numbers that a decent SATA3 SSD can deliver are just amazing, but with the more specialized NVMe SSDs, you can boost performance by 15x, which results in some extraordinary numbers.
