Unboxing and Visual Talos

Acer Talos

The Talos unboxing experience is, as you would imagine, somewhat more basic. The box itself is about as simple as the Apollo’s but – unlike its doubtless more expensive cousin – the Talos’ box has no slip. The box opens and the RAM is simply encased in a plastic shell. It’s absolutely functional and, to be honest, works fine for a cheaper kit of RAM. I wouldn’t want anything more, here, as that might jack up the price a little.

The kit does, however, look good. Naturally, looks are subjective but where the Apollo is somewhat more in your face, the Talos is the opposite. A mainly white heatspreader flanks a black central section where we again see Acer’s Predator logo etched in silver on both sides. There is nothing fancy, here, but I suspect those looking for an all-white (or mostly all white) build will be happy, here. Alternatively, those with blacked out builds might like the Talos for some much-needed contrast?

I will say that whilst the Apollo RAM is the higher end and flashier product, the Talos kit would likely be much easier to colour match with any build that wasn’t as equally decked out in RGB flair as the Apollo!
