The Verdict

Sixty bucks... I can't believe how much the prices have fallen. The market is clearly cut-throat. But hey, that's in your advantage as a consumer. Seriously, now is a very good time to upgrade some more memory in your PC. Granted this is not OCZ Reaper memory, but performance wise you'll get pretty darn close. With 5-5-5-16 timing we where able to push the memory towards 1100 MHz, 100% stable. Now again, for that kind of money that's pretty amazing. If you are just a regular PC user, pop in this memory, make sure you set the timings in your BIOS manually, pop the memory voltage towards 2.1v and then you'll have some of the fastest DDR2 memory available at a bargain price.

Gaming wise I still say that the difference between one or two GB simply does not matter significantly unless your are on a Vista OS; however I do recommend you guys to make the switch toward 2Gb if you plan new memory or a new system.

It's not "just" memory size and timings, games and applications in general) need to swap way less (page file) and that has a very positive effect on your gaming experience (less stuttering). That alone should not be a reason to pickup a two GB kit though. Just for the sake it, this year 2GB will be as common as 1024 MB is right now.

At it's default and overclocked tested settings (1066 MHz); not once did we encounter stability issues, so that's definitely worthy of mention. So this is some pretty cool stuff to have in your gaming rig.

With 2 GB you'll have plenty memory for the next year or two. This memory comes very much recommended for mainstream to high-end enthusiast platform with for example NVIDIA's 680i nForce series. On that topic, for those interested, the memory is SLI (EPP) memory capable. meaning that if you enabled it in the mainboard BIOS the memory will automatically be configured optimally. Just make sure your system is capable of utilizing the memory frequency.

Last but not least I just have to mention that the kit comes with a life-time warranty. At this price-level and with such timings this memory is really interesting to purchase. For that we hand out an Editor's Choice award.

You tell me... how on this earth could you possibly go wrong with this purchase ? You know what, go crazy get 4 GB if you run a 64-bit operating system, you'll love it.

Guys, at this very moment (Nov 2007) NewEgg has an absolutely stunning deal, you can purchase this 2 GB kit for $26.99 after a mail-in rebate, click here for that deal. That's a steal!
