Radeon X850 XT Platinum Edition

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 01/10/2005 09:00 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]
ATI launched new products, the really lovely Radeon x800 XL and the x850 XT PE. We finally have both reference products from ATI in our cute little lab which makes us wonder how much samples actually are available, and with that in mind how long it'll take to see them in the stores. Bare in mind, originally the plan was to get them in store before Christmas. This review will handle the Radeon x850 XT PE and next week we'll handle the x800 XL. Read article

Radeon x700 Pro 256 MB VIVO (HiS)

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 01/02/2005 09:00 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]
We've reviewed quite a number of HiS products in the past already, it all started with their really lovely 9800 Pro IceQ model roughly one year ago, it had a revolutionary cooling design that many of us simply love so much. They are managing that same trick again with the x800 Pro/XT series, and yes it has happened again. HiS is equipping (offering) the Radeon x700 Pro IceQ Turbo cooling solution making it one very interesting buy. Read article

Galaxy 6600 GT AGP 128MB review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 12/16/2004 09:00 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]
A week or thee ago, you were able to read our reference review and guess what? Last week the first retail GeForce 6600 GT AGP card arrived in our office. Today's product comes from Galaxy. It's the GT version of the card, the best bang for your bucks graphics card in the mid-end range of videocards in December 2004. I know you guys are ready to get this card and good news, it's shipping throughout the world as we speak and slowly becoming available. This is a card that offers a lot of features and performance for a very reasonable amount of money; the GeForce 6600 range is economically priced and offers truly first-rate value for your money. Another week another GeForce 6600 review. And I'm afraid this will continue to do so for the next couple of weeks. The GeForce 6600 is hitting the market hard as this is going to be a graphics card that is affordable yet offers some really good value for it's money. Today's product review is no less of that.. Last week we received a new sample from the good folks of Prolink, a company with a reputation to do things differently. Plasma cooling, PDF technology are two thing that come to mind immediately. PowerColor Radeon x800 Pro review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 10/06/2004 07:00 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]
Quite honestly I never expected PowerColor to be around in 2004 as I figured their reputation at one point would get to them but hey, they still are. A few weeks ago I was contacted by a representative of Tul, the actually company that is responsible for the PowerColor line of products asking if we would be interested in reviewing some of their products. Within that context I have to say that of course over the years I have been following them. We have seen a lot of discussion about the products in our forums and the trend shows that things have improved for the better for sure. So today we will be reviewing the PowerColor Radeon x800 Pro. With that being said, let's start up this review beginning with a small overview of the Radeon x800 Pro. Read article

Albatron GeForce 6800 GT 256 MB review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 09/21/2004 07:00 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]
Heya Guru's it's time for a new Albatron review. Come tot hink of it ... it's been a while since we tested one of the videocards and I actually had to check. Yes, the lovely GiGi GeForce 5950 Ultra back in January was that last reviewed product. You'll agree with me that ever since January a lot has changed in the beautiful graphics industry. Of course Albatron jumped the GeForce series 6 bandwagon and in the stores you'll find a wide variety of that product line from Albatron. Today's review will be all about the Trinity GeForce 6800 GT, based on NVIDIA's excessive wanted silicon and armed with 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 memory. Read article

Gigabyte GeForce 6800 GT 256 MB review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 09/13/2004 12:03 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
The flavor of today's review is GeForce 6800 and it's labeled GT. The the new Series 6 under label N68T256D which of course is based on the heavily popular GeForce 6800 GT videocard with 256 MB GDDR3 memory. Gigabyte is one of my personal favorite manufacturers. They have a strong and solid research and development team and produce high quality and steady product at an affordable price. Besides that, most of their videocards always have had a good reputation in terms of tweaking. Read article

GeForce 6600 GT Reference Review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 09/07/2004 07:00 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]
In the new GeForce 6600 range we will see two products initially, namely the GeForce 6600 and the GeForce 6600 GT followed by a 6610 XL model which is likely an OEM card. Both cards will have 8 pixel pipelines and will be equipped with 128-bit memory. The GT version is of course slightly faster but here's an interesting fact, it will also be SLI compatible. Well, you might as well buy a high-end 6800 then but still... Read article

Inno3D GeForce 6800 128 Mb review

InnoVision is a reputable company with a keen insight on what the end-user demands: quality and unique designs. They offer GeForce based graphics cards from low to high-end. In today's review we'll be testing a high-end product yet in the lower range of that high-end line, the 300 USD costing GeForce 6800 Standard. Read article

HiS Radeon X600 XT iCooler VIVO review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 08/24/2004 07:00 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]
This is the HiS Excalibur X600 XT Limited Edition, a 220-230 EUR mid-rang product targeted at the mainstream user, it in fact is a PCI Express model. What is PCI-Express you ask ? A new slot that will slowly start to replace the AGP port. The AGP port is at the end of it's life cycle. As you know AGP is now at 8x (2GB/sec), and I know I can't say it like that, but think of PCI-Express in terms of AGP 16x. It's effectively doubling bandwidth from 2 GB/sec towards a bi-directional 4 GB/sec. ATI has a native solution for PCI-Express where NVIDIA will use it's High Speed Interconnect bridged solution to handle the translation from the multiple serial busses to the cards native AGP interface. Galaxy Glacier 6800 128 MB review

The standard 6800 is in essence has the same core as the 6800 Ultra and GT, yet clocked 50 MHz slower, slightly less memory bandwidth and the four missing pipes. That's the biggest difference... oh and hey... 100 USD bucks cheaper then a GT or Radeon X800 Pro which is it's main competition. Read article

GeForce 6800 GT PCI Express

Today's article as you can guess will be all about NVIDIA's GeForce 6800 GT on that new PCI-Express 16x bus. It has twice the bandwidth and sounds very promising, let's get acquainted with that we are talking about today and that would be the sporty named GeForce 6800 GT; which I believe is the best product in terms of bang for your bucks in the high-end graphics arena. PixelView GeForce FX 5900 XT GL

One of the most successful products in the GeForce FX line-up from NVIDIA has to be the GeForce FX 5900 XT. You simply can't go wrong with this product can't you. It offers the full 5900 series architecture and thus a big proportion of that high-end performance yet the product is extremely affordable. It's one of those, 'most bang for your bucks' graphics cards. When you take that fact and a manufacturer like Prolink which has a reputation for building high-quality and stylish designed graphics cards well then the end result must be staggering ..
