Galaxy GeForce 7900 GS Zalman Edition review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 12/17/2006 03:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
At defaults 7900 GS card is clocked at 450 MHz... this one 550 ! The default memory on a GS is 1320 MHz, this Galaxy GeForce 7900 GS is clocked at 1500 MHz. All in all the recipe to get some serious bang for your bucks. Let's move on towards the next page where we'll discuss the standard technology features, talk about the bundle, the cooler, heat, power consumption, photo-shoot, benchmarks, overclocks and finally the verdict. Yes, you better prepare yourself for the entire Guru3D she-bang. Read article

Radeon X1650 XT & X1950 Pro & Crossfire

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 12/11/2006 03:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
Primarily this is a Radeon X1650 XT Crossfire article, yet with included X1950 Pro Crossfire results as well. Ever since NVIDIA released the GeForce 7600 GS/GT cards earlier this year ATI has had a very rough time delivering a product that offers the same performance. They constantly were close but not close enough. ATI worked hard to finish up its new 80 nanometer products and despite a delay of all the 80 nanometer chips, it is finally ready in good quantities. The Radeon X1950 Pro for example is such a product. Read article

Inno3D GeForce 7950 GT Zalman review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 11/07/2006 03:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
Over the next pages we'll review the Inno3D version. Interestingly enough with Zalman cooler. Our last Inno3D review was slightly negative due to the awful amount of noise the reference coolers made and as any clever company does .. they listen. So they decided to release a model with A Zalman cooler. And you know Zalman .. they offer silence versus good cooling. Read article

HiS Radeon X1650 PRO review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 10/30/2006 03:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
The Radeon X1650 Pro utilizes the ATI RV535 graphics core, a new revision of the RV530 which was the basis of the X1600 series. What's new then you are asking ? Uhm, well nothing except a newer 80nm fabrication process. That 80nm process ensures cheaper production of the silicon and more importantly less heat and likely lower graphics core voltages. That means you can clock the core faster, which was done quite insignificantly for this model but the increase is there. Read article

Radeon X1950 Pro 512MB Review 3

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 10/16/2006 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
So today we'll be looking at the rather lovely Radeon X1950 Pro from this company, a review on ATI's latest 12-pipe mid-range product which obviously was based off the R580 silicon, and quite frankly is a very credible graphics card as you'll learn in this article. The card features 36 Pixel Shaders units. For $199 you can pickup the 256MB version already, it sounds like a great deal as it should offer at least twice the performance of a X1600 Pro. BFG Ageia PhysX review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 09/26/2006 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
It was March 2005 when Guru3D.com heard that there might be a new contender in the graphics cards arena. The rumors surrounding the company Ageia hinted that they were to be responsible for the second '3dfx' like graphics revolution for PC games by releasing what they called the PhysX, PPU (Physics Processing Unit). According to AGEIA, things don't just look authentic; they act real and feel real. Massively destructible buildings and landscapes; explosions that cause collateral damage; believable characters with spectacular new weapons; pragmatic smoke, fog and cool oozing fluids are all now possible. GeForce 7950 GT 512MB Shootout (review)

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 09/12/2006 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
nother week, another NVIDIA review Guru's .. Last week we tested the intensely impressive GeForce 7900 GS, a card which is like the man with the hammer ! In that review last week we also already let you guys and girls know that NVIDIA announced two cards. The GS was a product targeted at the mainstream users with a fantastic price of 199 USD. There is however a tiny gap in the market against ATI that needed to be filled.. a product that competes with ATI's 299USD Radeon X1900 XT 256MB. So NVIDIA released a 299 USD 512MB card .. quite interesting huh ? Read article

Review: BFG GeForce 7600 GT & 7900 GT OC

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 08/30/2006 07:00 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]
BFG manufactures the GeForce 7600 GT and 7900 GT but as trendy as it is ... they brand it as a special "OC" version. These are the pre-clocked (at default higher clocked then the reference cards from NVIDIA) on both the memory and graphics processor. So today we are looking at the BFG GeForce 7600 GT OC and also their GeForce 7900 GT OC. Both cards come with 256 MB memory and both cards produce a stack load of performance for your well spent bucks. Read article

Sparkle has their usual line of cards and then their Calibre line of cards as well. Much like other companies the Calibre series is slightly more expensive yet you'll receive some pretty nifty extra candy. In the case of the GeForce 7900 GT they are offering a 790 and 790+ model of this videocard and we'll be looking at that P790+ model. Read article

ATI Radeon X1950 XTX preview

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 08/22/2006 07:00 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]
What we will be focusing on today will be the all new Radeon X1950 XTX. A product that is somewhat lined up against the dual-gpu solution called GeForce 7950 GX2, a product which offers great performance for a really okay price. So ATI figured .. hmm we can do better then that and even at a better price so they introduced the Radeon 1950 XTX, Specifications for the Radeon X1950XTX and X1950 CrossFire are finalized with a 650 MHz core clock and an impressive 2 GHz effective memory clock. NVIDIA Quad SLI review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 08/09/2006 07:00 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]
Merely eight weeks later NVIDIA recently released a ForceWare 91.37 driver to the public opening up Quad SLI compatibility not only to these pre-built Quad SLI rigs but also for the do-it yourselfers among us, thus offering you the option to built and try out Quad SLI. Quite a challenge I figured but hey ... I'm not saying it's there just yet .. but there has been some tremendous progress which we just have to write a little something about. Read article

Radeon X1600 Pro Single & Crossfire

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 07/02/2006 07:00 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]
So what are we going to do today .. first we'll have a look at the product specifications, then we'll talk a little about Crossfire, obviously a nice photo-shoot and then a set of benchmarks. We'll test the Single X1600 Pro (100 USD) as well as paired in Crossfire (200 USD) and will compare it with a 200 USD X1800 GTO (200 USD) and a pre-clocked GeForce 7300 GT (120 USD) from Galaxy to get some perspective into this review. Armed with an exceptionally playable graphics core and equipped with 256 Megabyte of GDDR3 memory, this product is ready to growl in your PC. Read article

Galaxy 7300 GT 256MB DDR3

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 06/19/2006 07:00 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]
The formula is quite simple .. take your average NVIDIA product and see how you can optimize and improve it. The it's the sum of little details that make their products more interesting over the product from the competition. Today's product falls in the low-end GeForce 7300 range .. but thanks to the just mention optimizations the product is actually in the lower segment of mid-range .. and that's not bad for a low-range costing product.
