PC Power & Cooling MK III Silencer 1200 review 3

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 08/20/2012 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]

We review the PC Power and Cooling MK III Silencer 1200 Watt review from OCZ technology. The new Silencer Mk III series are all about being quiet, being awesome and very efficient and again, the PSU as tested today carries a Platinum certification. The new PSU also improved on the audibility front as it comes with a switch, enabled it and up-to 600 Watt (!) the fan will remain disabled and at that load your PSU merely lukewarm. The 1200W PSU is massive in performance, the one massive 99.5A 12-volts says it all really. Excellent for multi-GPU solutions and hardcore overclockers. The PSU is engineered with merely premium components, including Japanese 105°C capacitors and heavy-duty protection circuitries.

Corsair AX1200i PSU review 3

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 08/07/2012 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]

We review the Corsair Professional Series AX1200i PSU. The 1200W PSU is massive in performance, the one massive 100A 12-volts says it all really. Excellent for multi-GPU solutions and hardcore overclockers. Corsair also embeds their LINK technology into the PSU. That means you can monitor the PSU with the help of software, things like PSU efficiency, power usage or simply to adjust the fan RPM. We'll show you that in the review though.

Have a peek at the article.

Corsair GS800 review 3

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 07/17/2012 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]

We review the Corsair GS800 power supply. The power supply is on the market for a while now already and it one of the more popular models. It offers Bronze efficiency, a single 12V rail and comes with a fan that doesn't activate until you use 20% of PSU load. That fan BTW can be lit with three led colors. The PSU itself is non-modular, not a biggy for most, but most of you with a side panel window in their chassis really want modular cables. Being 800W and with all the aforementioned features the PSU is priced in the 90 EUR range here in the Netherlands, and that's not a bad price as you are about to find out.

PC Power and Cooling Silencer MkII 750W PSU review 3

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 05/13/2012 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
The new model PC Power & Cooling power supply is their Silencer Mk II series of PSU's. It's the 'bloke' PSU series again with a simple design, and hey -- nothing is modular so the PSU certainly is a squid inside your system with all the tentacles (wires), but yeah .. lots of you don't really care about cable management, they just want the best of the best and sure ...as you'll learn you can't really complain about the essence that is the Mk II Silence 750W power supply. Enermax Platimax 850W power supply review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 09/20/2011 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
Enermax always is able surprise us, they now have released the Platimax power supplies, that means a platinum certification and yeah .. that boils down to a 94% efficient product. Very few products get this certification. Today we'll grab a couple of older older supplies and see if what they claim is true, can we really save on energy. We fire off three PSU's at a P55 / Core i7 870 based system setup with a GeForce GTX 590. We then monitor power consumption in idle, CPU productivity (stress) mode and then lock into a gaming session. Read article

Enermax MaxRevo 1350W PSU review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 09/04/2011 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]

The MaxRevo is 1350 Watt .. with peak power available up-to 1620 Watt, yummie. Interestingly enough this is a nice small sized power supply, you'll hardly hear it, has plenty of modular options, wwell read is all modular and is 80 PLUS Gold certified. That makes the modular cables based MaxRevo PSU series 88-94% efficient @ 20-100% load.

Enermax Modu82+ II 625W PSU review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 03/06/2011 03:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
Today we'll have a look at one of Enermax's latest power supplies. It is the all new Modu82+II 625 Watt power supply that comes with an 80+ Bronze certification. New in the revised Modu82+ II (and Pro82+ II) series is that they support the new EU regulation ErP Lot 6 for PC systems. This norm regulates the standby consumption of systems, which affects PSU and mainboard. Oh and it's also n 625W PSU that can actually peak towards 690W, this is labeled mid-range by Enermax. Enermax Revolution 85+ 1020W PSU review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 10/05/2010 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]

We review and test the Enermax Revolution 85+ 1020W PSU. A near perfect power supply, Enermax recently released the Revolution 85+ series, this BEAST as I like to call it has everything I just mentioned. Modular cables, it's silent, sturdy, rugged and at 220 Volts this puppy can achieve a power efficiency of 87 to 91 percent, and that is just very noteworthy.

Enermax Revolution 85+ 850W review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 11/01/2009 03:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]

It certainly has been a while since we reviewed Enermax products, if memory serves me right the last Enermax PSU that we had in queue was the Galaxy Kilowatt DXX power supply. At the time (and still) considered a top notch product. We where exhilarated by it and I know for sure that our review cascaded an effect -- as a lot of our forum visitors actually purchased that Galaxy series of power supplies, which they still use and are happy with. Times change and there is always room for improvement, Enermax started rolling our the Revolution series of power supplies. A highly stylish, highly efficient and modular power supply that is quiet as well.

Gigabyte Odin PLUS 700W PSU review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 10/06/2009 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
We'll have a look at Gigabyte's Odin series of power supplies. An updated version, the new PLUS model. Being Guru3D we did opt the higher wattage model. It's called the Odin Plus 700 Watt power supply. A fairly standard power supply, yet with some extra horsepower, should you need it. Advertised as a SLI ready and certified product that comes with a 80+ Bronze certification for it's efficiency. What's special is that Gigabyte designed their own board layout, four 12 volts rails, uses solid capacitors to market it in their ultra durable product segment and as such hope to bring you a nice and long lasting product. PC Power & Cooling Silencer 910 PSU review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 05/19/2009 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
Here we test the Silencer 910. PC Power and cooling creates the best of the best among power supplies, they however keep their design simple. No multiple 12 Volts rails, no Sir, it all comes from one single rail, apparently more robust and efficient. Cable management ? Ehm, no Sir, all cables are connected as modability would have an effect on overall efficiency here as well. A near kilowatt power supply with an efficiency that is bloody fantastic at roughly 88% Read article

In Win Commander 750W PSU review | test

We will be reviewing the In Win Commander series power supply. Commander, as in military. And that shows, army camouflage packaging, and an army green PSU. Quite funny to observe really. Marketing sure, but somehow .. this concept works out really well. A fairly high-end power supply. But is it any good ? Let's fire off some rounds and ground the PSU with some serious ammo.
