Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 11/08/2016 10:18 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]

This summer Cooler Master launched the new MasterWatt Maker PSU series. These power supplies are not just intensely efficient with good build quality, CoolerMaster wanted to take things a step further and made them completely digital with options to monitor and configure right from your PC or mobile phone through new proprietary Connect Software. The end result as such is impressive alright, a very nice power supply rates 80+ Titanium that comes with a modular design 12V rails and even configurable fan control.

With the ever-growing demand of power consumption this is a highly modular, with two 12V rails (for this 700 watt model), highly energy efficient product that remains very silent.

Corsair HX750i PSU review 3

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 08/14/2014 03:00 PM [ 11 comment(s) ]

We review the Corsair HXi Series 750 Watt PSU, this beast has moved from Gold towards being 80plus Platinum certified. So that means it is fully modular and optimized for silence and high efficiency. The power supply is quite delicious in performance, the one massive 63 Amp 12-volts says it all really. Superb for mainstream to high-end and even multi-GPU solutions. Corsair also embeds their LINK technology into the PSU. That means you can monitor the PSU with the help of software, things like PSU efficiency, power usage or simply to adjust the fan RPM. We'll show you that in the review though.

We review the OCZ Fatal1ty 750W PSU. The power supply became available market a little ago and it one of the more popular models from OCZ. It offers Bronze efficiency, a single 12V rail. The PSU itself is modular has good looks and something you can appreciate for those of you with a side panel window in their chassis. Being 750W and with all the aforementioned features the PSU is priced in a 75 EUR range here in the Netherlands. To top it off, OCZ even gives this PSU a 5 year carry in warranty.

Antec 850W HCP Platinum power supply review 4

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 08/08/2013 08:11 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]

We review the Antec 850 HCP Platinum power supply. The HCP series have received an upgrade (High Current Pro) and this 850W model WAS their gold model but is replaced with this version, Platinum certified, meaning the PSU can pimp and show off its most efficient power supply label available in this bizz. Next to that some smaller changes have been applied as well.

Corsair CX600M PSU review 4

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 07/08/2013 08:11 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]

We review the Corsair CX600M PSU. This 600 Watt Power Supply is grand in performance but even better in price. A product that is affordable, yet comes with the quality you can expect from a name like Corsair.  Being the more 'regular' non CX model these power supplies are a bit more affordable, yet remain high quality and high performance and 80 Plus Bronze certified. 80 Plus Bronze, semi-modular, and the fan doesn’t really spin up beyond its minimum speed until around 50% load. How does that sound ?

Lepa G1600 PSU review 3

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 02/06/2013 11:05 AM [ 3 comment(s) ]

It's not often we review a 1600 Watt power supply. The guys behind LEPA however where keen that we tested one. So who are we to argue with that, in this review we'll have a look at the LEPA G1600, a 1600 Watt power supply that is labeled with a Gold certification, and if you are on 220V it will reach close to Platinum levels of efficiency. Quite amazing really as the unit isn't huge by any standard, it's not too noisy by any standard and heck, it is even modular. Have you ever seen a power supply that has 10 (!) 6+2 PCI Express graphics connectors ? Heck yeah, let' check 'r out.

PC Power & Cooling Mk III Silencer 750 review 3

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 01/28/2013 10:03 AM [ 4 comment(s) ]

We review the PC Power and Cooling MK III Silencer 750 Watt review from OCZ technology. The Silencer Mk III series are all about being quiet, being awesome and very efficient and again, the PSU as tested today carries a Gold certification. The PSU also improved on the audibility front as it comes with a switch, enabled it and up-to 350 Watt the fan will remain disabled and at that load your PSU merely lukewarm. The 750 PSU is lovely in performance, the one massive 62A 12-volts rails says it all really. Excellent for multi-GPU solutions and hardcore overclockers. The PSU is engineered with merely premium components, including Japanese 105°C capacitors and heavy-duty protection circuitry's.

Corsair AX760 PSU review 4

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 01/23/2013 10:22 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]

We review the Corsair AX760 PSU. This 760 Watt Power Supply is grand in performance, the one massive 12-volts says it all really. Excellent for multi-GPU solutions and hardcore overclockers. Being the more 'regular' non AXi model these power supplies are a bit more affordable, yet remain high quality and high performance and Platinum rated.  I also now have the 760W and 860W versions of the new AX power supplies (the non-digital models). These are actually based on Seasonic platforms, and so are completely different PSUs to the AXi models, though they are still 80 Plus Platinum and fully-modular. The 760W is also fanless to 70% load (the 860W to 60%) at 25C ambient, which is pretty impressive.

We review the EVGA SuperNOVA NEX1500 Classified PSU. The monster of a 1500 Watt PSU is massive in performance and features. Corsair GS800 review 3

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 07/17/2012 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]

We review the Corsair GS800 power supply. The power supply is on the market for a while now already and it one of the more popular models. It offers Bronze efficiency, a single 12V rail and comes with a fan that doesn't activate until you use 20% of PSU load. That fan BTW can be lit with three led colors. The PSU itself is non-modular, not a biggy for most, but most of you with a side panel window in their chassis really want modular cables. Being 800W and with all the aforementioned features the PSU is priced in the 90 EUR range here in the Netherlands, and that's not a bad price as you are about to find out.
