Patriot Viper Steel RGB 3600 MHz (2x 16GB) review 5

Posted by: Krzysztof Hukalowicz on: 02/05/2021 04:07 PM [ 7 comment(s) ]

Today, we are looking at Patriot Viper Steel RGB 3600 MHz CL20 (yes – 20!) memory in a 32 GB set consisting of two 16 GB modules. I can say that we’ve had our fair share of experience with Patriot RAM. We had an opportunity to test a similarly clocked kit (3600 MHz) from the Viper Steel series (so no RGB there), but the capacity was 2 x 32 GB back then, and the latencies were quite surprisingly better, at 18-22-22-42. Before that, we also reviewed one of the fastest 2 x 8 GB kits in the range, clocked at 4000 MHz with CL19 latency.

Silicon Power US70 PCIe 4.0 NVMe review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 02/02/2021 11:11 AM [ 13 comment(s) ]

We review the Silicon Power US70 1TB PCIe Gen 4.0 SSD. It among the best performing NVMe SSDs we have tested to date, rating at 5 GB/sec. Of course, it is an SSD you can seat into any PCIe 3.0 compatible PC, however, if you place it into a compatible Ryzen processors B550/X570 based PC, some magic happens as you are running 4000 to 5000 MB/s numbers and higher, thanks to the new PCIe 4.0 interface and a little TLC from Phison, well Toshiba strictly speaking.

We review a new revision Corsair MP600 PCIe Gen 4.0 SSD; this is the CORE model, which is amongst the best performing NVMe SSDs we have tested to date, rating at 5 GB/sec. Corsair is trying to offer a more price-competitive product range. The 2 TB version tested costs 16 cents per GB. In this round, however, there's a twist.

TeamGroup CX2 1TB SATA3 SSD review 3

Posted by: Krzysztof Hukalowicz on: 01/19/2021 02:23 PM [ 14 comment(s) ]

The current market trend is that M.2/NVMe drives are the preferred option because they usually offer better performance, with fewer cables needed. But there’s a place for SATA drives as well. They are still 4-5x faster than HDDs, which they will eventually replace in most PCs. Some of the other advantages include the lack of noise and lower power consumption (usually up to 2 Watts). TeamGroup CX2 is a range of SSDs that can be the first choice for installing an entry-level PC.
