NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI Intel preview

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 08/08/2006 06:00 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]
Reason enough for NVIDIA to release the nForce 500 series for Intel's processors (Core 2 Duo as well). Today we'll be taking a brief look at the reference NVIDIA NFORCE 590 SLI mainboard. It by all means is test done with a reference board that is not 100% finished and unfortunately we did not receive a final product from a board partner like ASUS. Nonetheless .. even with this very Beta reference mainboard I was shocked by the combination of Conroe and NFORCE 590 SLI for Intel, in very positive way I must add. Read article

Albatron K8SLI mainboard

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 08/16/2005 06:00 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]
Albatron decided toe ease the pain a little. They introduced a mainstream SLI mainboard based on the NFORCE 4 SLI chipset that is quite affordable and offers a more than enough of functionality versus excellent performance. Being an affordable mainboard costs can be cut a little. Next to that one of my personal wishes finally was introduced .. as stated you need to enable SLI mode on the mainboard if you are using two GeForce graphics card in a SLI setup, which normally can be done with that little SLI card that sits securely on your mainboard and needs to be be flipped around. Some manufacturers ditched that SLI card and allow that change from the BIOS or even automatically. Albatron is such a company, and this mainboard has a digital switch, you seriously don't have to do a thing. Lovin' it! Read article

NVIDIA nForce 4 SLI Intel Edition

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 04/27/2005 06:00 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]
So it was 2004, November if I'm not mistaken, when a press-release came in. NVIDIA announced a cross license agreement with Intel that hold multiple products and more important for the future, product generations. Exciting news for sure, but I did not expect that NVIDIA would have something ready so darn quickly. Intel and more importantly Intel's processors are a huge chunk of the processor market, and NVIDIA can now have a small take of that. The first Pentium 4 chipset mainboard chipset that they've released is of course the product we'll take for a quick spin today. Read article

Intel 925XE Express Chipset

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 12/20/2004 08:00 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]
Today we are looking at Intel's D925XECV2 mainboard equipped with the seriously breathtaking yet unfortunately rather expensive 3.46GHz Pentium 4 Extreme Edition to try out for a couple of weeks. But let's focus on that mainboard versus chipset. Key primary feature you need to keep in mind is that this mainboard is capable of a lovely 1066 MHz system bus. Your average Pentium 4 mainboard these days run on the quad pumped 800 MHz front side bus, this one can handle a bit more (266 MHzx 4), yes 1066 MHz. Read article
