One of the companies I personally have very good ties with is of course Hercules/Guillemot. I always make an appointment with them to discuss their latest and upcoming products.
This year was kind of special, Hercules halted their relationship with NVIDIA by making the choice to sell products from ATI. Hercules Europe has complete distribution rights for the entire All-in-Wonder series from ATI and will be selling all other Radeon products as well. My meeting was with the sweet Christine Foucault who is Worldwide Senior Product Manager 3D Graphics for Hercules. I asked her what had happened between NVIDIA and why Hercules made the sudden step to ATI. All I want to say and can say about this, as it probably is wise not to give away too much information, is that Hercules has a very dynamic approach to sell the best/good product and does not try to bind to one manufacturer constantly. Of course there where matters with NVIDIA also but I'll leave that one open for your imagination as that information does not belong on the street. Among the new products was the new 17" LCD Screen, the Prophetview 920 and Prophetview 920DVI. The Hercules Prophetview 920 and Prophetview 920DVi are high quality 17-inch LCD monitors featuring a large display area, similar to a 19” tube monitor. They are compatible with VGA graphics boards and function at a recommended resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels for games and multiple window applications. The monitors’ enhanced high contrast and brightness settings provide optimal visual comfort. With their slender ultra flat design, futuristic boomerang bases, and fashionable blue color, the Prophetview 920 and Prophetview 920DVi are a stylish work of art, I actually have a 15" model myself and am using it as I type this, total geek stuff and I love it.
Furthermore there was the new faster clocked Kyro-II based 3D Prophet 4800 (KYROII SE), the 3D Prophet 4800 offers gamers a 200MHz core clock with 64MB of RAM, new 3D technology features and a quality TV-Output enabling users to upgrade their PCs for playing games and watching DVDs. But that was not the most interesting part.
