Make
sure that your power supply can provide all the fans with electricity.
Especially if there is many hard drives and cd-rom connected. Myself I
use a power supply 235 watt manufactured by Tiger. Fortunately it can
handle all six fans in the case including PSU, GPU and CPU-fans. On
the other hand there is only one cd-rom and one hard drive inside. But
a 300-watt is recommended.
Front-fan
- Ok,
lets see what I have to do to get those bad guys mounted. The first
thing I did was to wipe out the logotype of the manufacturer on the
front. For those who live in Sweden or Finland might recognize that
logo. That company does nowadays not exist but that’s another story.
I used some nail-polish remover, which appeared to be very effective.
If
we look where the front fan is supposed to be you can se that the
metal is perforated. The fan holder is that plastic thing.
Those
holes are not good enough if want a good airflow. So I got rid of the
plastic holder and cut open a hole fitting the 80 mm Papst
fan. The fan itself fitted behind the front of the case. That made it
necessary to place the hole bit higher.
Here
is the fan in its real position. Fortunately the front cover is hiding
my not so good handwork. Of course I had to make a new hole for the
fan grill in the front cover. Please continue to read and you’ll see
the result later on in the article.
