A prelude
Today we will be looking at another GeForce 256 based videocard. It's from Visiontek. I can hear you saying 'Visiontek, Who's that ?'

VisionTek (VT) is USA company which was founded in 1988. They primarily focus on desktops and notebooks. They offer this product on OEM and reseller basis, that means, no colorful box, but instead you'll receive a cheap box, the VS GeForce 256, a Driver CD and probably the smallest manual I've seen to date. The product is almost exclusively sold in the US on a reseller basis.  VT does provide the card for Gateway 2000 on a worldwide OEM basis so the Gateway systems with the card factory installed are VisionTek-built cards.

While VisionTek does note sell direct, you will find the average street
price of the card to be approximately $249-299.

The VT GeForce 256 comes with a DVI connector, which gives you full flat panel support. Furthermore you'll find an S-VHS output on this videocard which provides us with the option to output to Big Screen TV. Except for it's memory the card looks very similar to Guillemot's 3D Prophet DDR/DVI, however, it's equipped with 5.5ns SDRAM memory from Hyundai. This videocard makes a well-built and solid impression based up-on nVidia reference design of the GeForce.
