Funnily enough when we look at DDR memory these days we can notice it can be named in two ways. One is based on speed, the other on transfer rate/bandwidth. TwinMOS DDR400 of course stands for the frequency of 400 (2x200) MHz but when you look at the package you'll notice PC3200. The 3200 simply means an effective memory bandwidth of 3200 MB. As always we get a little geeky, but you can actually calculate the nominal bandwidth like this. 400 MHz time 8 bytes wide is ... 3200. The Module Hey, no fancy heat spreader on there, also no colored PCB. No the only thing rather cool looking is the holographic sticker. This is the pure stuff, a normal looking module. The module itself has the front side equipped with the silicon's and the backside has nothing. BTW remember that I told you these modules are cheaper compared to the competition. Rethink the above lines okay ? When we zoom in a little onto the silicon we can make not of the fact that we are looking at Winbond chips. Personally I like Winbond. They have always delivered good clockable yet stable and fast chips. The Winbond BH-5 chip is rated 5ns and is arranged in 8x32MB.
