The Technology from A to Z

I carefully removed one of the ram-sink to
check what kind of memory the little beast had been equipped with. Well, it's
Elite memory rated 4 ns, one of the fastest modules available. Before you start
ripping the ram-sink of your videocard yourself be advised that if you do it
improperly you can damage the videocard.

Don't try this at home kids.
One item that immediately seems to grasp my attention is the fact that the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) is cooled with two fans. One reference based
NVIDIA fan and on top of that another fan which can be described as an average
DX-100 cooler which should be connected to your mainboard.

Although I like the GPU to be cooled to the max I see no point to this solution.
Most of the time when two fans on top of
each other are being used they generate friction and as a result noise. I'd rather have seen some sort of
new and effective single fan on top of the GPU. While installing the Titan II my
fear became reality, it made too much freaking noise .. I rapidly disabled
the second fan to get the noise level somewhat to a normal level. Then there is a second
issue with the extra cooler, it's blocking a PCI slot. Which means you will not
be able to use the PCI slot below the AGP slot. Personally, I'd rather have seen
a nice Blue Orb on there.
When you buy the Titan II, it comes in a simple white box accompanied with
necessary cables, something that can not be described as a manual, standard reference drivers. Don't expect a shiny box and a two hundred pages counting
manual. It's all very basic. Still .. I don't have a problem with that. When you
buy at OCZ you buy with a reason, and that reason is the product itself .. It's
high quality, tweakable and has all the features you are looking for. In past
reviews I have blamed a dozen of companies for not making use the entire
GeForce2 feature set, and I'm talking about the hardware here folks. the Titan
II comes with a S-VHS output and DFI (Digital Flatpanel) connector. I have only
seen one company doing this, and that company is Hercules.

I'll trade in the Shiny box, game-bundle and huge manual for these
features anytime and anywhere.
It's really good to see these connectors on the videocard, hell if you pay
$409 for a videocard that should last a while then it's good to be prepared for
other peripherals.
