VIA PC133 / (VIA 693A)
Of course with its latest VIA 693A Chipset it is possible to
clock the FSB on the board up-to 150 MHz (Got to have fast enough ram
and processor though!).
VIA was the first chipset maker to make
a chipset available that takes advantage of the new PC133 SDRAM. VIA
does ship the '693A'-north bridge as of right now. The '693(A)' will
be the official PC133 chipset, although it's exactly the same as 693.
Of course you'll be able to run 693 at 133 MHz FSB in any motherboard
that uses it.
This motherboard is ready for any Intel
Pentium II/III and celeron processor with a slot 1 connection. The
mainboard is ATX in form, has an Award Bios and has three 168-Pin
DIMM slots witch support SDRAM / PC-100 / PC-133 with a max. of 1.5 GB
SDRAM memory and supports ECC and VC SDRAM.
As noted before, there are plenty of slots available on the 6VBA-133. 2 16 Bit ISA
ports, 5 32 Bit PCI slots and of course one AGP slot. One ISA and PCI
slot have been shared.
While opening the styled box we found the mainboard,
manual, driver cd, Norton CD and cables. All major functions of the
mainboard like controllers, keyboard, mouse, PCI-slots, ISA slots, AGP
slots and DIMM slots.
 The mainboard
When you take a good look at the mobo you'll notice that
Soyo has done a great job in its development. The boards lay-out
is very good. Everything seems to be at the right place. The CPU-fan
connector is close to the CPU, the power-connector is free from any havoc and
surrounding cables or processor, connectors are close to each other
and can be easily red from the mobo (IDE1,IDE2,DIMM1, etc). The
mainboard makes a solid impression and seems to be made of quality
components.
