Thermalright SK6 vs. CPUfx CORE
|
The
Looks and Sturdiness:
The
SK6 is a bit more flimsy than I would have thought, at the top the fins have a
little pattern that they connect into rather than being welded together. The
individual fins can be easily moved back and fourth as well, but this should not
be much of a problem being your not going to be playing catch with it but rather
it sitting on your cpu. Now the basic look of the heatsink looks very nice, and
houses a new fan mounting design that we will get into in a minute. The heatsink
unlike most other does not have pins covering the whole base and then slightly
enlarged gap for the mounting bracket. With the SK6 there are fins on the left
and right side, which only go to the halfway point of the heatsink leaving a
small gap for the mounting bracket.

On each corner of the heatsink there is 1 little hole, which is where those wiry
things for the fans come in to place. Looking at the bottom of the heatsink, it
looks rigid, kind of like a nail filer, and it sounds that way when you rub your
fingernail against it.
