NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200 & 4600 review

As we always try to dig a little deeper into the hardware than the competition we try to demonstrate you the videocards in all their ways. The image below shows the GeForce4 Ti 4200 & 4600. First of all, no ramsinks on both cards. NVIDIA clearly did not see a use for them or wanted to cut overall costs. Both cards are equipped with VGA and DVI connector.

If you have two monitors then get a 10 dollar gender changer and connect your second monitor to that DVI connector. You'll love it. Of course both cards are equipped with TV-OUT to output al the 3D violence to the big screen. In a later section of this article we'll get deeper into that as DVD/DiVX slash movie playback over S-VHS output really has improved over previous generations and definitely deserves some extra attention.

When I fired up SiSoft's Sandra I started to check some videocard device settings adn noticed something quite funny. What do you know, NVIDIA reference graphics cards are currently produced by VisionTek.

Also, the NVIDIA is now at revision/stepping A3 for it's silicon A newer build usually means better stability and or higher clock ratings (better to overclock). Furthermore both cards have quite an amount of memory bandwidth to play around with which we will explain on the next page..
