Nexland WaveBase

Purple is obviously not a good color for the camera.  The pictures make it look blue.  But it's purple.  You'll also notice that the RJ-45 connectors are on the front, and not on the back.  This makes routing your cables a little bit of a headache.  It's also a double shame because of when in operation the WaveBase puts on quite a light show.  With cables flying everywhere.

So what's the deal with the DIP switches?  Well, for the security conscious, it allows several important functions only to be performed while a person is physically with the unit.  Functions like resetting to factory defaults and upgrading the firmware, use the DIP switches.  A bit of inconvenience, but good security is not easy, so I consider this a good feature.

Features:
Nexland's WaveBase has more features than Cajun cooking has spices, I guarantee.  This makes the WaveBase a very spicy dish indeed.  Here's the (rather Punctual) short list:

  • Fully 802.11b Wireless Compliant to connect computers/devices wirelessly on the LAN at speeds up to 11Mb

  • Built-in high-speed 4-port 10/100 switch to connect computers or additional hubs
