Imagine a flight simulator, it's very common that a lot of important functions are being activated with key strokes like CTRL-SHIFT+A Well, try to imagine doing that while you are in a dogfight with your eyes focused on the monitor and your right hand on a joystick. Every second counts right ? This is where the SideWinder Strategic Commander comes in. Important functions can be programmed just a pinch on a button away within millimeters of your left hand. Furthermore use the SideWinder Strategic Commander as rudder, you won't touch that keyboard ever again.

The SideWinder Strategic Commander Driver Software

Another example, in a game like Age of Empires II the dynamic shift-buttons could be used to safe commands from the different game 'ages'. The profile-switch can be used to switch between different functional game phases like collecting resources and weapons, navigating over maps or even engage a battle. Furthermore, the SideWinder Strategic Commander has the possibility to record commands to a button in-game with help of the record button. You press the key combination on the keyboard, you press the 'REC' button on the SideWinder Strategic Commander and assign that key/macro towards one of the buttons. Very nice indeed.

The included driver software is very easy to use and gives you a really advanced control over the Strategic Commander.

Easy to use, easy to configure and test profiles ...

Everything is easily formatted and programmable. There are 30 game configurations already included in the Strategic Commander, ranging from SimCity 3000 upto Dungeon Keeper. Of course any game can be programmed or altered by you.
