The Boomslang 2000
Okay, now that I have covered pretty much all tech stuff there is to say about
the Boomslang you'd probably like to know how it handles right ? The mouse takes
a while to getting used too. It took me about a day. But that time-period
differs from person to person, you have to learn how to use the mouse optimal. Unfortunately,
it isn't all perfect, I had a very hard time using the scroll-wheel to browse
web-pages, even if I adjusted the scroll-wheel settings to the fastest possible
setting I would still have problems, it reacts too slow to my humble opinion.
Furthermore it's incredibly precise and nothing compares to it, not even the
mice that I have used from Microsoft, Logitech, Genius and some others. While
playing games the mouse is outstanding. Personally I like to sniper a lot in
games like Delta Force II and Unreal Tournament, it handled most excellent in
it. Very precise and sensitive. The Boomslang will improve your game by making
it way more accurate.
Price
The Razer Boomslang 1000 averages at $69 and the Razer Boomslang 2000 goes
for about $99. The mice are bundled with Soldier of Fortune (4 level OEM Demo)
and/or the full version of Battlezone II. The mice are compatible with Windows
95, Windows 98 and windows 2000.
Conclusion
The innovative Boomslang 2000 has it all. It's incredible sensitive, has
on-the-fly adjustment, rubber coated buttons, programmable buttons. What I loved
about the product is that you can upgrade the software online. Just pop-up your Razer
customizer, hit update and everything will install automatically. The only
true competitor to these mice is Microsoft with it's Intellimouse Pro and
Intellimouse Explorer mice. Take a good look at all those devices before buying
one. If you ask me .. mhhh, I'm going for the Boomslang 2000 even if it
costs $99 which is a little steep for the average gamer.
We reward the Razer boomslang 2000 with our Seal of Approval!
