| The Benchmarks
- part deux |
I have added
a new benchmark as reference for testing 3D video cards. Its the very
heavy Kingpin time demo. This baby will bring any video card down to its
knees. The results are stunning. Kingpin runs in OpenGL

The next benchmarks will show us performance in/decrease in 16 and 32Bit
color modes. Game play is whopping up to 1280x1024 resolutions. Even at
1600x1200 you can play a game very decent in 16Bit colors. It also
playable in 32 Bit. however since the TNT-2 is very processor sensitive I'd
need a faster processor.

The one
thing that has to be noticed is the high-performance 32Bit rendering. Look
at the graph below. You'll notice that the 32Bit vs. 16Bit curve is very
low, and only at 1600x1200 is starting to get problems related to FPS.
Once again this is very processor dependant. But running this baby at
1024x768 doesn't make much difference in 16 or 32Bit. And lets face it.
We all want to play in 32Bit high-quality rendering.
