3D Prophet III Titanium 500

3D Prophet Titanium boards are guaranteed for exchange for up to 3 years. In this article we'll take a look at the new Hercules graphics flagship, the 3D Prophet III Ti500.

As stated the 3D Prophet III Ti500 is the new graphics card flagship from Hercules. The easiest way to look at it in an understandable fashion is by comparing it with a GeForce3 Ultra. Equipped with a Ti500 240 MHz GPU and armed with 64MB 2x250 (500 MHz DDR), the Ti500 will compute at 960 billion operations per second (BOPS) It's 1.5x the GeForce 3 performance at the suggested retail price of $349

In this article we will test the 3D Prophet III Ti500 against a GeForce3 Titanium 500 reference model that we received from NVIDIA. First we will explain a tidbit on the new features that the GeForce3 line-up has and then of course we will benchmark and compare this videocard towards other videocards like Kyro-II, GeForce2 MX, GeForce2 Ultra and the 6 months 'old' GeForce3. We'll also overclock this videocard to see how far it can actually go but first let's take a look at the tech specs:
