The Technology from A to Z

It's hard to explain why one should choose to go for a GeForce3, in this review we will try to demonstrate to you that the production of the GeForce/NVIDIA chipset was always based upon a good feature set versus extreme speed. I like to call this horizontal manufacturing. What NVIDIA now is doing is going vertical, they have reached a speed that is unprecedented and they are now moving into a somewhat new ballgame ... 3D scene quality.

The GeForce 3 can now display 3D scenes with an image quality never seen before. With the right games or software supporting it all you'll be able to do is say ooh and aah! You will be amazed ...

When I started the first tech demo's I was simply shocked, this is a superior product, this is the best consumer targeted videocard period. About  6-7 years ago when you where watching a computer animated movie you probably did not realize that it took supercomputers to make that movie. Each frame was calculated one at a time. If you where looking a a few minutes movie it actually took those dandy Silicon Graphics system days to render those few minutes of fun.

Powered with 57 million transistors on the GeForce3 we nowadays can render this in realtime, high-resolution at a stunning framerate. It's so funny to how gaming has progressed the in the past few years. With each year that passes by we are getting closer to emulate realistic environments on a PC yes .. a virtual reality. It's a nice time to be a hardware editor !

Now let's start up this review ... To make you understand what the GeForce3 is making such a special product I have to explain you the GeForce3 In-depth and will learn you to understand what phrases like Quincunx, nfiniteFX, programmable vertex and pixel shaders are. Accompanied with benchmarks, tweaking  and a conclusion I must warn you, brace yourself for a long read. So get comfortable and grab a cup of coffee ...
