Installation of the SoundBlaster Live1 Platinum

The Platinum offers Digital Surround Sound and will give you clean, crystal-clear, 6 channel audio when using a digital out connector. Both the digital and analog connections allow you to connect to 2, 4 or 5.1 (2 front, 2 rear, 1 mid and one subwoofer) speaker configurations so you can maximize the potential of this card. Also I can not tell you how lazy I have become with being able to just sit back on my bed and use the remote control, that is provided with the card, to play my music and watch Lava motion movies. The remote was one of the reasons I wanted the card. Just so I don’t have to be right at the computer to do everything.

Installation - With the SoundBlaster Live! Drive II you get easy front panel access so you can simultaneously connect both digital and analog devices. The other things you can connect to the front panel are S/PDIF in, S/PDIF out, line in (mic in), headphone out, MIDI in, and MIDI out. This is a major benefit if you are a musician and plan to have things like keyboards connected to your PC and don't want to keep having to move your PC around to connect at the back. The Live! Drive II just slides in one of your free 5 ¼” drive bay and screws in just like a CD-ROM or DVD drive. The sound card is just like any other PCI card, it uses an open half length 2.1 compliant slot. In the package is an IDE cable for connecting the Sound card to the Live Drive II. 

Then you connect the audio cable to the CD-ROM (the cable is provided). That’s it for the hardware part of installation. Now we move to the software part of the installation. The Sound Blaster Live! Platinum ships with Live!Ware 3.0 and is loaded with features, enhancements and software that allows you to enjoy new experiences in Internet Entertainment.
