3D Blaster GeForce3
Manufacturer -
Creative Labs Europe
It has been quiet for a while regarding Creative Labs versus
videocards, but recently Creative Labs Europe announced an entire range of new
nVidia based products that will make the Mack daddies of Multimedia products
return to the hardcore gaming scene.
The last product that we have seen & tested was their GeForce2
MX with 64bits DDR memory, then came the GeForce3 announcement from NVIDIA and
from there on it was quiet. Creative labs is back, with GeForce2 MX 200, MX PCI,
Pro and big surprise the 3D Blaster GeForce3 ! They have made some pretty
interesting moves to get back in the 3D saddle.

Creative has
just
finalised
their
pricing,
as
a guidelinen
these
are the suggested sales prices
(excluding local VAT) …
| 3D Blaster GeForce2 MX200 |
|
$99 |

3D Blaster GeForce2 MX
PCI |

$99 |

|
3D Blaster GeForce2 Pro |

A little side note on the MX, the PCI model will only ship in certain countries that have a proven track
record in selling PCI solutions. For example the two biggest selling graphics
cards in the UK in 2000 were both PCI .. I believe that the strong demand is
partially based on people with integrated AGP and also people being sold PCI as
a safe option if they are unable to tell the sales person whether or not they
have an AGP slot in their PC.
The
prices above are of course suggested retail prices, expect much lower prices in
your PC shop. The videocard that we will review today is the 3D Blaster
GeForce3, at this time the product is manufactured by Creative Labs Europe only,
therefore availability other then Europe might be difficult.
Right, let's get this review started :)
