We are in luck and have an unlocked Athlon XP 1800+ so that expands our options in overclocking here. Let's take a look at some performance results, the platform used was Windows 2000 Pro. First of, default benchmarks based on the Athlon XP 1800+ processor, after which we'll start overclocking the CPU and memory, first multiplier wise and then FSB wise.
In case you did not know, the Athlon 1800+ does not run at 1800 MHz. It is a performance rating.
Multiplier x front side bus=CPU clock frequency in MHz Athlon XP 1800+ = (11.5x133=1529.5 MHz).
Processor performance is right where it should be.
The memory is clocked at 333 MHz right now and again is where it should be. Pretty nice scores actually.
