There was a time when this site was called the Voodoo Guru, since serious PC gamers regarded the Voodoo cards so highly.  Now, sadly, an era has passed.  Some people are angry at NVIDIA, as though they feel it’s NVIDIA’s fault that 3dfx died.  In truth, a successful company merely picked up the shattered pieces of another company that had it all and lost it. 

How could 3dfx have fallen from such a height of grace?  All we have are theories.  At least we can be glad we were witnesses when 3dfx brought the revolution of accelerated 3D graphics to the home PC.  Sic transit gloria mundi.
