Asus ROG ARES II Video Card: Dual Radeon HD 7970GE on one PCB
ASUS announced a dual-Radeon HD 7970 graphics card. It’s based on two Tahiti XT2 GPUs, meaning that it’s clocked higher than one GHz. The card is so power-hungry that the company decided to use a liquid cooling solution. The ARES II (ARES2-6GD5) is not yet listed on the ASUS website. ASUS ROG Radeon HD 7970 MATRIX PLATINUM Gets a Review
Today we test thus review the ASUS Radeon HD 7970 ROG MATRIX PLATINUM graphics card. Designed to be one of he completely customized card comes with voltage measurement points, a 20-phase VRM circuitry with supper alloy caps and chokes as well as a special capacitors added to maximize overclocking headroom, according to ASUS. The GPU is clocked at a great 1100 MHz and this is the default frequency as the card. A very nice fact as well is that the GDDR5 memory that runs at 6600 MHz effective frequency directly out of the box.

ASUS releases no less then GeForce GTX 650 Ti graphics cards including the GeForce GTX 650 Ti Dual-Fan (GTX650TI-1GD5), the GeForce GTX 650 Ti DirectCU II OC (GTX650TI-DC2O-1GD5) and the premium GeForce GTX 650 Ti DirectCU II TOP (GTX650TI-DC2T-1GD5). The GTX 650 Ti Dual-Fan remains at a close to reference clock speeds of 928 MHz core with 5.40 GHz memory, while the DirectCU II OC ups the core speed to 968 MHz, and DirectCU II TOP to 1033 MHz.
