Wi-Fi Enabled Smart Doorbell - DoorBOT

Posted by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 12/07/2012 08:58 AM | 6 comment(s) ]

DoorBot: the battery operated Wi-Fi video doorbell that connects to smartphones and tablets. See who is at your door -- anytime/anywhere. Pretty easy to steal though.

It looks interesting.

But at $170, or $320 with lock, I'm not sure if I'd like that. On the other hand, it's a pretty normal pricing for such products.

Owners may as well leave their front doors open 24/7 then, because it won't be long until someone walks right in, and takes everything.
Especially when the batteries appear to be so easy to remove. ;)

locks, keys and door visors are too mainstream now?

Hmmm... I bet this would have enough street value to make it a popular burglary item.

So a device connected to a system that most folk barely know who to secure sufficiently that can in turn be used ti unlock your house...

...so would I just not be better off leaving my door wide open and at least save myself the 200 quid?

Hmm as a doorbell, sure looks pretty neat but I would not want that thing to be locking/unlocking my doors.
