Posted by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 11/29/2012 09:11 AM | 5 comment(s) ]

VTX3D released their Radeon HD 7870 Black Edition Graphics Card. Under SKU code VX7870 2GBD5-2DHV3E the card is equipped with 1536 shader processors, a 256-bit memory interface, a core clock of 925MHz (975MHz Boost Clock) and a 2GB of GDDR5 memory set @ 6000MHz, and features 1x dual-link DVI-I, 1x HDMI and 2x mini DisplayPort outputs. Pricing and release date are still unknown at the moment.

Taipei, Taiwan –Nov., 27, 2012 –A renowned brand of graphics card maker - VTX3D, unfolds a mighty weapon to HD7870 series with VTX3D HD7870 Black Edition. The VTX3D HD7870 Black extends the benefits of VTX3D HD7870 series which takes advantage of progressive GPU design, and shows extraordinary performance than before.

The new model consists of ground-breaking feature which runs at a clock of 925MHz, and 6.0 Gbps for memory, even allowing higher frame rates in games by using AMD PowerTune with boost which overdrives core frequency to dynamically overclock up to 975MHz. Also, VTX3D HD7870 Black features 92mm ultra large fan and 3 heat pipes design, which can significantly reduce heats and keep the temperature low.

Having debuted on Windows 8, the VTX3D HD7870 Black is completely UEFI-ready which can support the latest Windos 8 Fast Boot function, and offering the most improved user experience. With AMD PowerTune technology support can maximize TDP constrained performance by enabling higher GPU clock speeds and minimize power during light workload by reducing in voltages, engine and memory clock speeds. Enhancements for AMD Eyefinity technology include multi-display stereoscopic 3D support and 16k x 16k group resolution, gamers can get the most intense gaming performance than before.

What GPU are they using on these if they have that many shaders?! I thought 7870's had 1280?

Yeah, we can't play games without CUDA, just watching movies on youtube.

That's the mysterious Tahiti LE SKU.

This is TUL only, they introduced a 7900 IC into the 7800 series, so Club3D, PowerColor and VTX3D will offer these cards just with a different sticker (if you can find them at all).
