Here's a new gameplay video of Sui Genesis, a new open world action-RPG that features procedural movement and combat system, and promises to be the next big thing in that flooded genre.

Considering that there are next to nothing animations wise, all done in realtime, it is quite insane,
I signed up for the beta, cannot wait fr it to come to that stage....

I found a post about it and checked it out. Once I saw how good the concept was and how far they have progressed I informed Hilbert about it.. Glad I did.
If you would like to get in on the action you can go

Shut up and take my money!
Why did we have to wait so many years for that? I hope they'll be able to finish and balance and publish the game successfully.

What happens when a Kickstarter fails? People get their money back?
Edit: Yes, found it in the FAQ, they must refund backers if they do not or cannot get their project done.
Watch the video on their Kickstarter page and you'll be throwing your money at them too: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1473965863/sui-generis

Well, they don't even take the money in the first place. I backed up a few projects, and you just declare how much you want to offer. If the project succeeds (enough money is declared), they charge your CC. If not, then nothing happens.
The problem is that in my opinion they haven't made enough noise around the project and the marketing video wasn't the best. For example Carmageddon or Planetary Annihilation campaigns were much more flashy.
Now I hope they'll:
1. Get $$$
2. Make characters move naturally, especially fix running animations
3. Balance the mechanics well
4. Add good story
5. Ensure everything is fun
6. Maybe maybe add multiplayer
7. Add infinite procedural dungeons

Keep in mind that it is pre-alpha at the moment.. First and foremost is getting the world and story work done and once it gets to that point move on to multi and co-op play. At this point it has been all about creating the game engine.
Now that it is close to completion the real work will begin on getting the world and other aspects of the work going. Feel free to join us on the site/forums for an even more in depth description of what is going on and just what the game is all about. http://www.baremettle.com/sg/home/
Allot has been posted and the devs are looking to build the community as well as to spread the word about Sui Generis to the world.
Needless to say, this is a game worthy of the KickStart program and small start ups like this are just what KickStart was created for..
I will be helping to build the community as well as spread the word and I welcome all of you to join me in this endeavor. I think it will be well worth the effort.
I also want you all to know that whether or not the goal is met, the game will continue to be developed. It will be up to us, the fans and supporters of the game, to help get the word spread about the game so that the KickStart for it is a success.
In the future I will be bringing you all one on one interviews with the devs as well as keep you all informed on the progress as things move along.
