StickNFind Locator System Makes Finding Lost Items Much Easier

Posted by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 12/01/2012 10:58 AM | 10 comment(s) ]

Admittedly, pretty vlever. Losing your remote, keys, and other items may soon be a thing of the past. Presenting, StickNFind, the app based location tool. By simply placing a small 'sticker' onto any item, you can use a Bluetooth paired iOS or Android phone to determine how far away that item is. The app uses a radar-like feature that shows the distance you are from the object, up to its 100ft max.

Interesting. It reminds me of this keyring my mum used to have, and every time you whistled it would go off.

I love this idea!

Here's a link to their project page: http://www.indiegogo.com/sticknfind
Basically they want around $15 per sticker + shipping (and $20-25$ once it's released) - it sounds reasonable, although I hoped these sticker would be a little cheaper.

I like it, The price is reasonable enough, and the size is good enough i'd buy 4. Under the condition the batteries are replaceable (in one way or another).

Edit:
Just found this:
Type: CR2025 watch battery. Battery is replaceable

Great idea.
Just a note, it requires iOS or Android phone or tablet with Bluetooth 4.0 support.

Does the first post look strange to anyone else?

it says this
"Admittedly, pretty vlever.Â*Losing your remote, keys, and other itemsÂ*may soon be a thing of the past."

In case these are control codes that arent displaying correctly for me only, I've split them up below:
"pretty vlever .  * Losing your remote, keys, and other items  * may"

I've seen this quite a few times here on Guru

Awesome stuff.. Now I just need another phone, so I can find my phone while looking on it on my phone..

But srsly.. great "invention".. With a longer battery life (e.g. 2 years+), and a longer range (200ft+) I may call it, invention of the year, or decade if you wish so..
And if they can "upgrade" it a way, that you can idd see it on a radar like screen, to figure out the approximate direction of the missing thing, it'll be a win-win
It's not quite cheap thou..
