Samsung Galaxy S4 Coming March 15th, Shipping To Europe in April

It seems that SamMobile has some new information for the Samsung Galaxy S4, and a new date: Coming March 15th, Shipping To Europe in April. The availability of the Galaxy S IV will be in the eastern countries from Europe first. Whole Europe and Asia are expected to receive the Galaxy S IV before the end of April. America, Australia and Africa will receive the Galaxy S IV around May / June.
The accessories for the Galaxy S IV (Clear Cover, Flip Cover, Protective Cover, Pouch, Extra Battery Kit, Wireless Charging Kit, HDTV Adapter and Headset) are planned for week 15 which also hinted for an early Galaxy S IV April release! the 5" AMOLED screen based phone that handles a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. The new generation screens should be more energy efficient. The Exynos 5 Octa SoC is likely to be used with the Galaxy S IV, that is an octa-core processor. Apparently the Exynos 5 Octa does not have an embedded MALI chip for graphics anymore, yet the has be swapped out for a graphics processor from the PowerVR line of products. Likely the PowerVR SGX544MP3 with it's GPU cores clocked at 533MHz.

It seems they fixed the throttling problem.
I just ran all the tests I could that he does there, without being put in the freezer (warm room temp.), and I got the same scores as his "Freezer" run. Another person just posted on Anandtech comments about the same thing.
It seems to have been an issue with reviewer phones.
No, it's still an issue.

I believe complete thermal shutdown occurs in the N4 at 60C. Don't quote me, but that is what I think I remember.

Dunno if that'll be enough time to save up for one.
Gonna give it a damn good try, even though I have to eat porridge three times a day to manage that!

If you miss the mark for the S4 you can just get whatever Google is working on with Motorola or whoever. Now that Google is basically going against Samsung it's going to get interesting to see what devices come out of who and neat features they throw in to set themselves apart.

No idea what to tell you.
I can show you a video of my N4 running those same tests and getting the "Freezer" scores at room temp, maybe they fixed these problems in my revision?

The throttling is pretty well known. If they fixed it in a recent revision, that's fine.

I mean, 30% of the people in that thread, which is obviously biased, it's obviously not 30% of owners, report a yellow spot on their screen when the CPU is stressed.
So, yeah, maybe a revision, but it is (was) a huge problem, not just for reviewers.

Samsung should spend more time researching how to make a phone that's actually capable of making phones calls. That kind of advancement from Samsung would prompt me to upgrade. I've owned 5 Samsung phones and they've all had the same problems with the antenna....they've all gotten piss poor reception.

I know it was a problem, but I figured more on a firmware based fix rather than a complete revision fix.
I got my N4 on the second round of orders in the states. Mine is also a 16GB version if it has anything to do with it.
But the N4 does get very hot from time to time (though no throttling). One of the reasons that I'm getting a case for it.
Mine does have however a the small buzzing sound problem by the earpiece, though mine is very faint and doesn't bother me, it's only there if you look for it.

I have yet heard such a problem with all my friends and the Samsung phones I've owned. Could it be a problem with your service provider? Most of my friends and family have the Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy S 3, Galaxy S II and Galaxy Nexus on basically every single Canadian carrier that carries Samsung devices. Heck, even my old Nexus S is crystal clear, my brother's using it now after I got my Nexus 4.
I've only had issues making calls on one of my friend's ZTE phones because my phone was out of battery and he offered to let me use his phone and it was crap.

I've had Samsung phones on Verizon/Alltel, Sprint and T-Mobile. Regardless of carrier, they've all had issues with reception. Most of my friends have had the same complaints of poor reception from Samsung phones.

My HTC Titan was really poor with the antenna, picking it up would result in the signal dropping from 3 bars to 1 bar.
On the otherhand my new HTC 8X is awesome, I get 4 bars in my house vs. 1 bar with my Titan. Even the GPS signal is unmatched, I pick up GPS in the middle of my house and office!
Edit - Did the S3 have a removable battery cover? If so, then much like my Titan that's part of the issue whether if the antenna is the back cover or not. Manufacturers really need to be focussing on sealed designs and people need to stop whinging about not having a removable battery as a result.

The SGS3 does indeed have a removable battery cover, nick0323.
That's why I was able to replace the original battery with a heavier-duty one.
Of course, a replacement back ( blue or white, take your pick! ) was supplied along with the battery.
My SGS3 is now a bit heavier built, but not so prone to going slithering out of my hand.

Why do they need to focus on sealed designs, and why should I stop whining?

To be honest, I don't get this obsession with THIN, THIN, THIN, the manufacturers seem to be having lately.
Everyone is now screaming about how hot their devices get and how they want bigger/interchangable batteries; and to top it off, everyone throws on a thick case to protect the thin-ass phone in the first place.
I wish they would go back to how they used to design telephones to have function over form; I miss throwing my Nokia to people around the room. There are IP67 rated smartphones, so this is doable.

Is there really a need for the Galaxy S4 to be released? Like a previous poster mentioned earlier, the Galaxy S3 screen is very crisp.. not much, if anything can be further improved.
The only upgrade I can think of which the world would love is a bigger or dual battery set-up. Battery life is the weak point of these high-tech gadgets.
it needs to be released so i can upgrade my S2...... I can skip one Gen and go straight for an S4.........
