Capcom and Valve have today announced a Resident Evil 6 x Left 4 Dead 2 crossover project that will see characters from Left 4 Dead 2 featured exclusively in the forthcoming PC version of Resident Evil 6, while enemies from Resident Evil 6 will invade the PC version of Left 4 Dead 2. All content will be made available completely free for fans of either game to access and play. See a video of the interview after the break.
Owners of Resident Evil 6 PC will be able to select one of four survivors from Left 4 Dead 2's iconic cast - Coach, Nick, Ellis and Rochelle ' when playing PC exclusive mode, The Mercenaries No Mercy. Each character will have a special customized weapon load-out created just for use in Resident Evil 6. In addition to the four survivors, two of the infamous Special Infected zombies from the Left 4 Dead franchise - the Witch and Mini Tank - will also make a cameo appearance in this mode, relentlessly attacking players regardless of whether a character from Left 4 Dead 2 or Resident Evil 6 is chosen. This new and exclusive content will automatically be downloaded in the background to all owners of the PC version of Resident Evil 6 from April 5.
Making the leap to the PC version of Left 4 Dead 2 will be some of Resident Evil 6's most fearsome enemies - Lepotitsa, Napad and Ogroman. All three characters were brought to life in Left 4 Dead 2 by Valve's renowned developers using its Steam Workshop tools. Owners of the PC version of Left 4 Dead 2 will be able to face a new deadly challenge when Resident Evil 6 characters infect Valve’s classic zombie title this spring.

Honestly i think this might be a good idea from both companies to take points and improve each others franchises. That is if they understand and agree when they correct themselves in each area. Pointing out somebody's flaws in a game where you worked is not exactly pleasing but if they are willing to learn from each other it might turn out good.

Too bad, no L4D1 characters, I'd much rather use one of the "Original" group, R.I.P. Bill.

not interested in the slightest that has anything to do with valve if the next halflife is not involved , they seem to be doing everything in their power to delay/scrap this game and do **** like this

The only thing good about Half-Life (IMO) was Counter-Strike 1.6<, which has been getting worse and worse after every reiteration.

Ok, industry insider. You don't know anything, stop BSing. Hell, you know less than nothing about Valve or HL3, or you wouldn't have even said what you said.

What I think he meant to say was.
"Valve is shuffling through every project possible, BUT Half Life 3."
That would have sounded better, but I do think people are reacting a little harsh towards his comment.
I do tend to agree with him to a point. It really does seem like Valve has their focus on everything but their own super popular titles that need sequals.
L4D3 and HL3 would be great! It wouldn't surprise me too much either, if they are waiting for next gen consoles to launch. After all they did put Portal 2 on PS3.

So Capcom are trying whatever they can to get people with PCs to buy what was a poor to mediocre addition to the Res franchise? Not sure if including the characters from L4D2 is the winner though. Am I the only one that thinks the characters from the L4D series just won't fit in to the more serious world of Resi?

I enjoyed RE6. I don't know why people want every game to be Skyrim or Crysis these days.
I had no issues with RE6 except for the horrid snowmobile sequence. That blew.

This, if they allowed this, it would be epic.
I'm still waiting for Valve to port L4D2 to Linux, it was the first Source game they showed off running on Linux, yet it's no where to be found.
