Plextor Launches 12x Blu-ray Burner

In a press release Plextor announced the launch of what they claim to be the "fastest Blu-ray DVD drive on the market". The Plextor PX-B940SA is an internal drive which uses the SATA interface and supports the following write speeds: 12x BD-R DL/SL, 2x BD-RE, 16x DVD+R/-R, 8x DVD+RW, 6x DVD-RW, 8x DVD+/-R DL, 5x DVD-RAM, 40x CD-R and 24x CD-RW.

Compatible formats (12cm, 8cm) are:

  • BD-R, BD-RE, BD-ROM, BDMV
  • HD DVD
