Posted by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 09/19/2012 05:41 AM | Source | 24 comment(s) ]

Crytek and Electronic Arts have released a new trailer for their upcoming FPS title, Crysis 3. The game is currently planned for a February 2013 release, and the PC version will feature - among other things - DX11 support and higher-resolution textures.Return to the fight as Prophet, the Nanosuit soldier on a quest to rid the world of the invading Ceph and the corrupt CELL corporation. Video after the break.

Tactically adapt to any combat scenario with the stealth and armor abilities of your unique Nanosuit as you battle through the seven wonders of New York's Liberty Dome. Unleash the firepower of your all-new, high-tech bow and alien weaponry to hunt both human and alien enemies.

Coming in February 2013 on X360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Lets see if they can keep the frame rate in the double digits on consoles.

True story that.

Looks great. I'm a Crysis fan, I play all of them. It's the same story though....

...the aliens ruin it.

To be honest, it doesn't seem to be a very impressive video. It could have been longer and could have had longer clips of the action in it. I'm still looking forward to the game, though.

Meh! Crysis 2 with a Bow(Now there's some "High Tech" to along with your super fancy suit...)
Honestly I never even finished 2. Sure it looked great and the eventual release of the DX11 and Textures made it shinier but the story just didn't grab me. Played thru Crysis and Warhead more than a few times, Crysis 2 just didn't grab me.

More like a TV spot than a trailer, kind of short and doesn’t really show any footage we haven’t already saw.
Visually it looks like nothing will be able to touch it (including the previous Crysis games), but gameplay wise I think Far Cry 3 will end up being a better game, and I don’t even like jungle games.

Something about Crytek games I just can’t get into, with the previous three games for the first hour or so I’m thinking they are great, but after that it becomes a struggle to finish them, and I end up having to force myself to.
Hope I’m wrong though.

I hope Crysis 3 isn't more linear than 2.

Crytek says this is going to cripple today's best hardware like it did when the first one came out. I'm curious to see what it is about the game that is going to do this and if a single GTX 680 can run it on max with decent frame rates. I love all their games so I am excited for the day it comes out.

You can, just get a second GTX 580!

I may need to get a third GTX 580 should this be true...
