Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance 2012 Trailer

Posted by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 09/21/2012 04:49 AM | 6 comment(s) ]

Straight down from the show room floor of the 2012 Tokyo Games Show comes this lengthy trailer for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. While it is entirely in Japanese, the gameplay segments require no translations. Of particular interest is a segment around the 2:10 mark in which Raiden "hacks" a robot and then uses it to ambush an unsuspecting guard. Other then that, well stuff gets really, really crazy (talking Bayonetta levels of crazy here) at the 4:00 minute mark. Video after the break.

The game will arrive in stores in North America on February 19th, the 21st in Europe and one day later in the UK. Check it out:

Looks like they're moving away from tactical espionage with MGR, the essence of MGS for me :( Slicing things up realistically with a sword does look quite fun I'll admit, but if it's more hack and slash and less hiding in lockers and in boxes I'll be sad

There is going to be a MGS5 and a Prologue to it.

Yawn, another hack n' slash em game.

At this point why even bother calling it MGS?

"Tactical Espionage Action"... yeah right.

Read my post above. No issue with having an action game when there will be two more tactical espionage games.

No harm done. As a true MGS fan who has played them all, Rising is a welcome spin-off.
