Posted by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 08/08/2009 08:17 AM | Source | 0 comment(s) ]

A turkish website has some details about Intel's Gulftown processor, this is a 32nm chip that should arrive within less than a year. It has six-cores, 12 threads and is compatible with X58 chipset based motherboards. The Gulftown supports 1066MHz DDR3 memory and has a TDP of 130W.

this 32nm six-core LGA1366 part is expected to be launched in the first half of 2010 under the Core i9 brand. The sample operated at a frequency of 2.4GHz (18x133MHz) and features a massive 12MB L3 cache.

Gulftown will be socket 1366 compatible and work with all X58 motherboards after a BIOS upgrade. I can tell you I am looking very forward to this processor.
