Intel cuts some Core 2 quad processor prices

Posted by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 04/21/2009 07:28 AM | 0 comment(s) ]

I think Intel is feeling the heat of some new processors being released by AMD this week, and as such decided to lower it's prices a little on their more popular quad-core processors, and introing two new ones.

The Core 2 Quad Q8400 and Q8400S are both made on 45nm technology, have a frequency of 2.66 GHz, a 1333 MHz FSB and 4MB of L2 cache. The 95W TDP Q8400 and 65W Q8400S cost $183 and $245 respectively.

Now when we look at the price cuts, the desktop Q9300, Q9550S, Q9400S and Q8200S would be prices like this: $213, $320, $277 and $213 respectively. Competition is good, love it.
