pre-ordered weeks ago thanks to xmas vouchers for amazon.
Digital download for a racing game just doesn't seem right somehow; I need a hard copy and a racing manual on drifting whilst windows is installing.
No benefit for pre-ordering though...surprised I didn't get a bonus car for loyalty...very surprised.
Offering pre-ordering is great, but you really should offer some kind of incentive to do so beyond missing the queues in shops or waiting for the 10 GB download to finalise...
In car is pointless, and I agree with some of the comments in the forum link - it really was only beneficial to those with multi-monitor setups and who had steering wheels...I draw the line at hooking up the PC to my Plasma and using a 360 controller.
Grid is a fun racing game, with some arcadeness to it; it's not Gran Turismo.

I actually played it on 21" 1600x1200 CRT, then 24" 1920x1200 LCD with a 900 degrees wheel (limited to 540). And it was fun, fun, fun! It was arcadish, but in a good way. It wasn't dumb by any means and you could enjoy shaving off 1/10s of seconds off your lap times. Some of my friends even played it with gamepad or keyboard from the cockpit camera.
Of course my buy / not buy decision won't be based just on the presence or lack of cockpit cam. Still it's something that I enjoyed and will be absent. Another issue is that I'm worried about is that such decision may indicate that they want to make the driving model dumber. I like sim racing games, but I also like racing games with a reliable arcade driving model that makes timings, control and path matter, like GRID, Juiced, NFS 3,4,5, Shift, and some more. But man, I hated DIRT hovercraft and NFS Hot Pursuit, which had very little to do with actual cars mechanics and playing them with a wheel was painful.

Oh my.. I can't wait to play this game, it's been a while since we got a real racing game to play on PC.

I expect the final game to be one hundred times more brown than this trailer

On one hand it looks cool and I liked GRID1, on the other hand this: http://community.codemasters.com/t5/GRID-2-General-Discussion/With-regards-to-cockpit-view-a-statement-from-Executive-Producer/td-p/17778
