Gigabyte to release X58-OC overclockers mobo

Posted by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 02/22/2011 03:11 PM | 0 comment(s) ]

Gigabyte is working on a new X58 motherboard totally pimped up and designed for overclocking, as their blog reported. The new color schema is quite wicked alright, anyway the mobo will be called the X58-OC and will come with four PCIe x16 slots and one PCI slot.

With the help of two SATA (?) power connectors you can direct extra voltage to the graphics cards and the mobo has two 8-pin ATX power headers as well.

The board comes with dual-BIOS and handy power/reset/cmos buttons. Hiding under the heatsink are new 50A rated driver MOS chips used to deliver up to 600A(1200W) load via 12 phases. Dual power design is still in place providing redundant phase power and great phase control.

For the non-overclockers, the board also comes with two USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, six SATA 300 and two SATA 600 ports.

Expect this product to be released in March right after CeBIT.
