been having a similar issue; are you running multi-gpu's by chance? Disabling sli seems to fix the issue for me. Seems no one knows why its happening?

I've a 590GTX .. i'll try to disable sli just to see what happen ;)

Not sure if this might help some folks.Unstable peeps could try updating their java runtimes.I've only had some instability using latest firefox but that was caused by FDM addon which I've since disabled. That occurred while using 313.96.I saw someone mention in another thread about the nv control panel, that while using your custom settings for your apps, instead of using Global settings option for the ones you don't change it's better you set it to Application Controlled manually.I've tried this and it has had a great impact on smoothness of gameplay for me.Also for peeps who like to be thorough when uninstalling/installing drivers Driversweeper leaves behind (2)TWO OpenCl.dll files on 64bit OSes.System32 folder and SysWOW64 folder.Search registry also for "khronos" as this is tied in to the OpenCL.dll files as well.Ccleaner always misses it.

I feel these drivers are working my card harder. No artifacts or anything; however, I received reproducible "driver has stopped responding" when sitting at the pause screen in Max Payne 3 @ 99% GPU usage. Lowered my GPU offset and they went away. Also noticed in BO2 that my card was hitting it's power limit 132% more frequently, which leads to throttling. Lowering my GPU offset to +100mHZ and MEM offset to +200mHZ kept my card within it's target. Keep in mind this is with a 120fps in game cap, and 4x SGSSAA applied. Overall both games ran beautifully, guess I can't overclock as high a before which really isn't an issue.

Ignore this post, even running stock I have TDR issues in Max Payne 3 when I hit ESC and stay on the pause screen for more than just a few seconds. I can sit at the game screen pegged forever with no issues, and play forever with no issues. So my clocks weren't unstable just something with either Max Payne 3 or the drivers. Either way everything else runs fine even with higher clocks of 150 GPU & 500 MEM.

I just tried both and not much changed. GPU utilization and FPS drop in WvW, no matter how fast you CPU is, that's a general GW2 problem. In PvE I'm always at 60FPS except in huge zergs where the same problem kicks in.

Alright if a certain is performing great, continue to use that. NO point in using a driver that is giving you or your friend trouble. Also switching to AMD, doesn't matter, you may run into problems there. My advice,

#1 build a secondary gaming system , one for nvidia and one for AMD
#2 Use the driver that is giving you best performance.

Any chance to get better Ambient Occlusion support with Unreal 3 engine games?

I reinstalled Singularity and if I force MassEffect or Unreal Turnament 3 flag I can get disappearing AO at certain angles.. It happens by both, MassEffect looks nicer- darker

Working

2cm to the right off

Working

1-2cm to the right off

*I saw something similar by L4d2 with default AO, but only for a brief second.*

Im forcing 4xMSAA, TrAA- 4xSS and 1 frame to render ahead, default ingame max settings with vsync on.

Also when i OC'ed to get fps back (a little lower volts then usual), AO +AA is very demanding, I got TDR? not sure though. Game froze for a second and when I alt+tab back into the game gpu started to run at lower power 3D mode..
Only hard reboot fixed it.

EDIT: made a quick video

Better still, completely remove Java.

Unfortunately OpenOffice requires it and I guess LibreOffice also isn't completely done yet with not relying on it any more(?)

Have you tried turning vsync off and back on in game? I find this works on win7. The crazy thing is that GW2 runs much better for me on windows 8 and does not suffer from the low gpu usage i got in 7.

@Mufflore. You can leave java installed, just disable the web browser plugins if you're worried. Also a good idea to make sure you're on the late release (v15). Also with an AV with browser protection you are fairly safe even with the browser plugins enabled.

crysis 3 kept crashing with device removed error.

found out it because my card kept going to p12 state while in the game.

switched power management mode to max and rebooted computer and game stopped crashing.

why do I have to reboot computer for the power management mode to take effect. this is stupid.

I think you have some serious issues with another reason then these drivers.
Just saying.
