Too wide IMO. 16:9 is wide enough. Dell have a nasty habit of destroying IPS picture quality with a layer of glue of and sand rubbed onto the panel just to make sure you'll never get a clear image. I think they're trying to be ironic or something, pay for colour accuracy, get no accuracy thanks to a layer of sand.

Even their claims of 178 degree viewing is rubbish, at about 140 degrees on all their IPS panels I've seen the brightness/contrast begin to shift, even if it is slight it's still happening. I'm still sitting in front of my 23" Ultrasharp thinking "if I had money to waste I wouldn't be using this piece of ****".

Too wide? This seems like a great alternative to eyefinity gaming if you hate the bezels around between multiple displays.

I think an Ultra wide monitor is the way to go for gaming. Race and flight sims would look great with a 21.9 aspect ratio. LG has a 27" with a resolution of 2560x1440. That's the one,or three, I would go with.

As this uses the same panel as LG's EA93 model that's on sale in Korea, the reviews/tests of the panel performance will be interesting.

Why? This is a 2560x1440 monitor that has been chopped at the top and bottom. How is that a benefit to anyone?

Why? Because some people might want to buy an ultra wide monitor and don't have money for screens with that large panels :rolleyes
And arguably at games a wider screen is better.

The response time/ms of MOST screens, monitors, HDTV's are bull$hit, just a marketing gimmick, most manufacturers lie.

The ONLY way to truly find out the response rate of a panel is by testing it, reading a professional review which will test all aspects & will give you it's response time. Usually the response time is HIGHER than what the manufacturer claims it is...

I have the 23" ultrasharp too and see the grainy sand film you're talking about. Bit of a bummer, screen was priced pretty cheaply though so I couldn't resist.

Personally, I think the anti glare coating on my U2711 is a little too aggressive but it doesn't detract from the monitor as much as people are saying here. Not to my mind anyway.

I like the look of this monitor.
