I couldn't max c2 with my dual 580s due to 1.5gb vram barrier, even though i use no AA Crysis2 pins my vram at 1.75gb in places.

As i've always said, in 2011 my gaming highlight was the dx11 ultra upgrade for C2, i just loved it. :)
There was even an online .pdf done by crytek explaining all the effects, was really sweet.

Will run fine if its like Crysis 2, got that maxed to the hilt with the Maldo mod, and it runs like a dream.

But can it play crysis 3?

I hope they improve the gameplay too and not just start a new can i play crysis catchphrase thing. I want to be able to walk past a mountain just to avoid two enemies in a hill, play cat and mouse with a dozen enemies in a village, etc

On a more serious note, i find it funny they recommend a gtx 680 for maximum eye candy. Either you have the fastest cards or you´re a bit screwed.

I enjoyed my first playthrough of c2, though I had way more fun in c1. What I disliked the most by far about c2 was the unskippable cutscenes that just go on forever. Made any future playthrough a chore.

What i Miss are the physics and vehicles from the first one (sandbox was awesome). Killing enemies with the environment was great, and huts were great. Power struggle was pretty fun as well! Honestly even preferred the story too. I might be biased since crysis was my first pc game, besides WoW, after awhile of playing mostly on xbox/wii consoles.

Still interested in c3, but my expectations are lower.

I'll miss PhysX tbh, even cpu based would have been nice like hitman has, tbh i've not seen anything comparable to the graphics in Borderlands 2, the tessellation in hitman is sweet also, so it's not like we haven't seen anything uber still.
Yeah bring it on, if it's worth an upgrade it's worth an upgrade if it's not then so be it.
aliens vs marines i'm looking forwards to just as much.

From the videos I've saw Crysis 3 has better physics than any PhysX game.

Not a fan of the palm tree or shed destruction from the first game as its kinda basic, but the cloth and grass and other effects in the last tech video looked the best I've ever saw.

I'm glad to see more games going Direct X 11 as a base, now I'm forced to upgrade and spend money!

With these minimum requirements, the PC version better be far above the console versions...

Yep, the foliage reacting to the helicopter is one of the nicest things i've saw.

Yep it definetly is, had to get up early to make sure the car was OK :(

what resolution with the 2 580`s? over 1080? I remember maxing out that game with high fps with maxed vram. maxed vram only matters if it causes stuttering

1080, after i got the 680 i seen it could stretch it's legs out to 1.7 and beyond, using same config as before btw.
Yeah it felt smoother, 1.5gb ain't enough for crysis2 -though i know you won't believe me.
'Liquid mercury' on 680, on 580s more like 'butter smooth' and the difference was probably due to vram barrier being breached on 580s.
