Corsair's New DDR3, the Dominator GTX 2250MHz (!)

Posted by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 12/04/2009 11:06 AM | 0 comment(s) ]

Corsairlaunched its new Dominator GTX ultra-high performance DDR3 memory modules for Intel and AMD platforms, designed specifically for performance enthusiasts, gamers and extreme overclockers.

The individual GTX modules have been individually tested on high-performance Intel X58 and P55 chipset platforms, thus ensuring that they are able to operate at a latency of 8-8-8-24 at 1.65V while running at the 2250MHz frequency. As mentioned, they are specifically aimed at power users, especially overclockers who want to see what their CPUs can do but don't have a memory capable of carrying that processor to greater heights.

The Dominator GTX modules are not restricted only to the Intel platforms. The DIMM modules have been found to run at 1800MHz CL6 in high-performance Socket AM3 motherboards for AMD Phenom II processors, thus being a good overclocking means even for AMD-based systems.

The individual DDR3 modules are built with the DHX+ heatsink in order to prevent failure because of overheating. Corsair's Dominator GTX DIMM module will be available exclusively through Corsair's Online Store and will have a very limited availability. It will be launched on December 8 and sold to whoever places the orders first.
