BenQ RL2455HM Gaming Monitor has Blazing-Fast Response Time

BenQ announced the expansion of its RL Series of professional gaming monitors with the launch of the new RL2455HM. Built on the advanced technology of the RL2450HT - featured on the Major League Gaming (MLG) 2012 championship circuit - the RL2455HM has been enhanced thanks to feedback directly from the gaming community.
Gamers now get a blazing-fast 1-ms GTG response time, 2-watt stereo speakers, and dual HDMI ports for the ultimate in connectivity and control. The monitor also comes packed with advanced custom settings, such as BenQ's Black eQualizer, Display Mode, and Smart Scaling to give players an edge over their opponents.
"As the official MLG gaming monitor sponsor, players relied on our RL2450HT to deliver unprecedented levels of accuracy and control in a number of tournaments across the U.S.," said Bob Wudeck, Director of Retail and e-Commerce at BenQ America Corp. "With the RL2455HM, we've taken all the advanced technologies of the RL2450HT, incorporated feedback from MLG pros, and created a powerful gaming monitor. Now home gamers can get the same experience as the pros, enabling an entirely new level of player performance."
Designed specifically for console gaming, users get the ultimate experience for fast-paced first-person shooter (FPS) games such as the new Halo 4 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, and popular fighting games like Mortal Kombat with an ultra-low input lag that renders action without ghosting or latency from mouse motion. The monitor's dual HDMI ports provide full HD connectivity with PCs, cameras, Blu-ray players, and more, allowing users to enjoy their digital A/V entertainment effortlessly. The RL2455HM also features a 60 Hz refresh rate tuned to match console video output for seamless connectivity, a 24-inch widescreen (16:9) full HD LED screen, LED backlighting for great color and low power consumption, and a 12 million to 1 contrast ratio for the best in picture quality.
To give players a competitive edge, the RL2455HM features BenQ's Black eQualizer to enable total visibility by allowing gamers to adjust the screen brightness without over-exposing white levels - revealing critical combat details with improved visibility in darkened areas. To accommodate individual viewing preferences, a Display Mode allows gamers to switch between seven monitor screen sizes while the Smart Scaling feature gives players the ability to scale the screen on-the-fly to virtually any custom size - ranging from a 24-inch 1080p display to a traditional 17-inch 4:3 format — without impacting controller sensitivity. The monitor provides custom settings for color enhancement, and features 2-watt internal stereo speakers.
The new RL2455HM gaming monitor will be available in March 2013 at an MSRP of $229. Information on the full line of BenQ gaming monitors is available at gaming.benq.com.

Sigh, why can't it ever be good news? "Gaming" monitors are an excuse to sell piss poor quality TN panels at stupid prices. 1ms GTG, yeah that sure helps, then those "pro" gamers use 20% of their GPU for in-game motion blur after buying these monitors to prevent blur.
I've been using an 8ms GTG IPS panel, I'd take that any day over a 1ms TN... if it weren't for the super sandy matte finish which makes me want to tear my eyes out.

Hence "pro", not pro.

Blurring is ok depending on the game but often I do considerably worse when it's on. I like to turn off the depth field. while it looks nice, it can make a huge impact on your chances of winning.

+ it's frequent even for "2ms" monitors to have real lag of >10ms; 1ms is ... well... fake
If I wanted to buy a "gaming monitor", I'd probably look for one from EIZO - they know how to make fast IPS screen.

Well panel response time is more for movies than for games. We need to know Input lag, this is main thing screwing gaming. My TV response time is 2ms GreyToGrey, but it's impossible to play on it, 60MS input lag, you can even feel mouse falling behind. TV is really great for movies, but for games...and monitors has that input lag too, if it's less than 15ms then great, if it's more, you might feel it, i do. And vendors don't write it, the main thing screwing gaming...of course we all know the reason why.

What I want is 4k 32" monitor at decent price.
I love my 30" Dell and only anything with bigger resolution will make me upgrade.

Maybe you bought a LCD monitor with bad input lag?
I see BenQ uses similar "over bright" technique as my new Eizo Foris 2333, here its called Smart Insight - it also sharpens the image a bit, although i dont use it much..
Also there is no input lag, Eizo own engine takes care of that + its a IPS, im not a fan of TN ;p

1ms is worthless if this monitor can't do faster than 60Hz. Asus VG278HE (144Hz refresh rate or 2 x 74Hz flicker free 3D per eye) wipes floor with this BENQ turtle

Tbh the only good thing I see is the response time, what are the viewing angles?
2-watt stereo speakers
60hz
Console oriented.. meh.
The only screen spec that would make me upgrade my G2400WD 2ms 60hz screen is a 27", 120Hz 1-2ms gtg and no additional rubbish such as speakers.
