AMD Phenom II X4 975 3.6GHz in next Quarter

Posted by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 12/10/2009 12:10 PM | 0 comment(s) ]

It is now rumored that AMD is set to release a Phenom II X4 975 processor clocked at 3.6 GHz in Q1 next year. The scaling of the Phenom II architecture definitely allows for it. The new processor would carry a 140W TDP though a third stepping might bring that back towards 125W. It's is expected that the processor would hover at the 200 USD prioce segment. AMD is really pushing the Phenom II architecture, it would make sense fro them to release the 6-core version anytime soon next year.
