Shuttle is ready to release the new ION-2 based compact system, a new ultra thin nettop ready to support playback of HD 1080p video resolution. Although Shuttle XS35 is already launched in Europe, it will also become available for pre order in the US, later this week. Apparently, despite the mere fact of product’s naming difference, the nettop is pretty way the very same machine in both regions.
Its clever design enhances not only the passive cooling performance of an excellent make full of holes, literally, but it also attracts your attention looking its eye-candy casing features. Looking inside, you will find out the heart of an Intel Atom D510 dual-core at 1.66GHz, paired with a ION2 based NVIDIA GT218 GPU. As for the storage itself, there is room for one 2.5 inch HDD as well as for a slim optical drive. Regarding the IO interface, it’s pretty much the usual D-Sub port next to HDMI and a multi-format card reader. Another point worth mentioning is that all these are crammed inside a 1.5 inch thick enclosure that makes Shuttle X350 an extremely thin and tiny system that raises the ante of its predecessor peers.
As many of you already wondering about the pricing of this little house of HD entertainment, the cost will fluctuate among 320 Euro.
