I kinda have to admit to have a fetsih for these cute little PCs. Incredibly energy efficient and well, they make great NET PCs. But a number of price comparison sites unveil etailers that are already offering presales on dual-core Atom motherboards.
The upcoming Intel Essential Series D945GCLF2 mini-ITX motherboard features a dual-core 1.6GHz Atom 330 processor and costs around 64EUR.
The board/CPU combo costs €62, some €15 more than the single-core Atom 230 based board. Intel's Atom 330 is clocked at 1.6GHz, just like its single core sibling, and so far this is the only version out there. Don't expect this to change anytime soon.
The new board features VGA, 6x USB 2.0, Gb LAN, 2x SATA, 2.0 Audio and one PCI slot and comes with a three-year warranty if you go for the retail pack. The motherboard should be available by late August.
Hmm, yeah I think we'll review one.
